Cinder Block Removal

Our house had a wood with concrete post fence. The fencing was not made with pressure treated lumber and not painted properly. I have replaced all of the wood around 3/4's of the house, but my wife would like to leave the front of the house open, with just a retaining wall, no fence. Accordingly, I need to take the cinder block "posts" (approx. 2' high (3 blocks), spaced at approx. 6') off of the cinder block retaining wall. It appears that all of the blocks are filled with grout, but, I am told by a neighbor, there is probably no supporting rebar in the posts. What is the best way to remove these cinder block "posts" from the rest of the cinder block wall without taking down the whole retaining wall? (the remainder of the retaining wall is built up to the level of the raised lawn).
