I want to extend my 14x14 kitchen into a sunroom to make it 14x21. I need to remove the bearing wall between the kitchen and the sunroom. The sunroom roof is attached to the main roof and is in great shape. What is the smallest beam I can span 14ft? Should I use an I-beam? There is only about 8" height above the existing bearing wall to the main roof. I don't really want to remove the sunroom roof and replace it with a gable roof.
