CommentsBuilding a bridge to support vehicular traffic requires special engineering considerations. Only a licensed structural engineer can perform these computations for you. The size of the members, the type and location of the foundation support members, the camber, etc. all must be computed based on soil conditions and expected dead and live loads. There are a number of programs that can be used to size beam members, such as the BeamChek program we offer. However, there's a lot more to building a bridge that comes into play. We strongly urge you to work with a structural engineer. Builders Websource.
