LOAD BEARING OF PLYWOOD SHELVESFrom: DSPEN75007@AOL.COM Category: Other/Misc Remote Name: 204.117.57.254 Date: 19 Jun 2002 Time: 06:28 PM
CommentsI am building a pantry that will have pullout shelves. They will mainly be holding canned goods I calculate that each shelf needs to hold a minimum of 126 lbs. The shelves will be approx. 27 inches wide X 20 inches deep. Will a single 3/4 inch plywood shelf hold the required weight or should I double the thickness? If I put two pieces together, can I get by with something thinner (ex 2 pcs of 1/2)?
