Muddy Post HolesFrom: stevestruble@yahoo.com Category: Concrete Remote Name: 207.225.31.220 Date: 16 Jun 2002 Time: 06:58 PM
CommentsI have dug postholes 3' deep and packed the soil (clay) inside for pouring concrete. The other day we had a thunderstorm roll through. After removing about a gallon of water from each of the holes, I tried repacking the soil but have at least 6" of mud in the bottom. My question is, can I still pour the concrete on top of the mud or do I need to let the holes dry out first? If they need to dry first, do you know of anything I can put in the holes to aid in drying or to remove the moisture? The holes are in constant shadow.
