Re: drywell for new building site on flood plainFrom: info@builderswebsource.com Category: Drainage/Waterproofing Remote Name: 63.198.181.43 Date: 11 Jun 2002 Time: 01:04 AM
CommentsAnytime you plan to build a home on a flood plain, we strongly recommend that you hire a local licensed civil engineer who can survey the property and make specific drainage recommendations, including french drains and surface drainage plans, consistent with your property. A recent posting on drywells provides addition insight into considerations of drywell design. However, in the event of a flood or high water table, a drywell will do no good. See: http://www.builderswebsource.com/_discBT/000004d8.htm for additional information. We also recommend that you read our technote on Residential Drainage and Basement Waterproofing.
