Re: lowering a building on stiltsFrom: info@builderswebsource.com Category: Foundations and Basements Remote Name: 63.198.181.43 Date: 23 May 2002 Time: 11:52 PM
CommentsTo lower your building off its stilts, you'll need to brace the existing structure and provide amply strong beam supports underneath (often steel I beams). These beams would be supported by jacks that can be gradually lowered to the desired level or new foundation. When attempting to move any structure, always take proper safety precautions. If you don't have the tools or expertise to do this, hire a professional. The last thing you need is to end with your leg crushed under a fallen structure! Builders Websource.
