I submitted the question on barn drainage earlier. I have some additional questions. In the document on website on French drains, it recommends that the perforated pipe be covered with fabric and the use of sand. The recommendation I received from my posting was: "we recommend lining the trench with a permeable filter fabric, and placing the French drains with holes face down in the trench. Backfill the trench with washed drainage rock, and wrap the filter fabric over the top of the rock." Can you let me know which method should be used? Also, can you recommend a "permeable filter fabric" and define what is washed drainage rock (what size rock, river rock, etc.)
