Sizing Header for garage

I am building a two story home over a full garage, for a total of three floors. Dimensions are 34x48 feet. The garage is 12-inch block filled with concrete. I left a 16-foot opening for the garage door in the 34-foot wall, in the center. I need to install a header beam over the garage door and wondered if I could use a laminated beam or if I should go with steel. If I use steel, how large of a beam will I need? The floors above are traditional joists hung from beams spanning the 34 foot width. The roof load will fall on the 34-foot ends, hence the need for a suitable header over the garage door. Any suggestions?
