In order to remove a 12-foot section of a load-bearing wall, additional information is required. Specifically, what is the wall supporting? Is there a 2nd story above? Does it support any part of the roof? In order to make any meaningful calculation, all distributed and point loads would be required. In addition, we would need to know the shape and dimensions of the area to be supported. If you can provide this information, we can give you an approximation.
