Try contacting Sentinel and ask about their carpet adhesive removal products, such as that at http://www.senpro.com/products/626c.htm

Also, some professionals actually use a carbide scraper blade attached to a heavy-duty buffing machine to literally scrape away the adhesive. However, this could damage the wood underneath depending on what you're trying to do with the wood.
