We recommend that you purchase an inexpensive humidity meter (hygrometer) to measure the actual internal ambient humidity. This is the first step to seeing if the furnace humidifier is working properly. Depending on the size of your home, it could take some time to reach the desired humidity level, particularly if you live in a very dry area where the outdoor humidity is so low. If installed properly, the fan should cycle on and off in order to maintain the desired humidity level. Check with the manufacturer of your humidifier to confirm the behavior of a properly operating system.
