Re: Concrete walkway/rampFrom: info@builderswebsource.com CommentsWhile the use of sonotubes won't hurt (so long as there is proper steel reinforcement), you can also build up this ramp by hauling in aggregate fill and compacting it to 90% in small lifts. Normally, the total thickness of the walkway will be about 4 inches. You'll need to figure out way to slope the soil away from the sides of the walkway so it looks natural. The compacted fill should fan out at a 45-degree angle on both sides of the walkway in order to stabilize the walkway. Compaction is essential, otherwise the walkway could settle, causing premature cracking. Builders Websource
