Installing shelving with crown moulding

I have a couple questions about installing a shelving unit inside a recessed wall, then adding crown moulding to the top of the shelving.

What is the best way to install the shelving if you have multiple uprights and shelving lengths? Do you assemble and tilt into place? or do you build as you go?

What are the different methods of installing crown moulding once the shelving is in place?
