If your multi-point lock is sticking 75% of the time when you try to open the door, there are a few possibilities:

1) If the lock used to be OK, but is now starting to stick, it's possible that lubricating the mechanism with a silicone lubricant might help to ensure full retraction of the lock.

2) The other possibility is that the door has settled or the hinges are loose. This would cause the door to be out of alignment. It only takes a fraction of an inch to cause a problem.

3) Finally, it's possible that the strike place was never properly aligned in the first place, causing a slight alignment mismatch between the door and the jamb.

After checking the obvious, and you still can't solve your problem, you'll probably need a door expert to inspect the door. It's possible that the lock itself is party damaged or out of adjustment. Please let us know what you find out.
