Re: Adding additional air ducts in unfinished basementFrom: diz_carter@yahoo.com CommentsI do have access to the supply and return sections. I was also planning on running new runs (tentacles) for the additional heating and cooling. Assuming capacity is still okay with my current system and I have purchased the parts necessary are the below steps correct. Air Supply: 1) Tap into the main air supply, by cutting whole into supply vent and attaching tentacle with sheet metal screws and seal tap. 2) Run the tentacle to desire location 3) Attach vent end unit. 4) After finishing attach vent grate outside sheet rock. Air Return: 1) Tap into air return and run 1) Tap into the main air return, by cutting whole into return vent and attaching tentacle( believe this is much larger) with sheet metal screws and seal tap. 2) Run the tentacle to desire location 3) Attach vent end unit. 4) After finishing attach vent grate outside sheet rock. Finally, is there anything wrong with using flex duct for the tentacle runs? Thanks again in advance. Diz
