Thank you for getting back with me so quickly. No, I never saw any plans for
this project though the contractor said, he had drawn it all out on his
computer. They were able to get a builders permit from the city, how I don't
know. Most of what was our old concrete patio still fills up the area where the
room will be. I thought they had to take all that out for the support blocks to
go in or can they use the old patio? There seems to be no plans to remove the
rest of it. This company had done work for us in the past, new vinyl siding and
replacement windows. They had done a good job with the first jobs, so when we
decided on the room addition, they were the first place we went to (so the
siding and windows would match). The contractor seems to have sub-contracted the
job out to this other person. He often does not show up on days he says he will
be here to work, always a reason he couldn't come out -- someone else had
something that he had to work on first. It appears that they have more jobs than
they have time or resources to work on. The builder said, he would be out today
(Sunday) to work on it. He would have to do it Sunday, or be backlogged,
however; he did not show up again. The good news is that we have not paid them
anything to date. Tomorrow, my husband will get with the contractor to see if we
want to continue this job or not. Thank you for your advice on stopping the
project! I will keep you informed. Patricia Lecroy
