Otherwise, any dips could cause premature cracking in the quarry tile. Note that some cement board manufacturers do not recommend the use of thick quarry tile over cement board. If you go this route (and I've successfully done it), be sure that your floor is very stiff to begin with. Otherwise, if it's springy, you could end up with hairline cracks in the tile over time.
