I am going to take down a wall in order to expand into a bonus room to be finished out. The wall is a load bearing wall. It supports one portion of the roof which is a tile roof. I was wondering if I used 3- 2 by 12's sandwiching a steel plate 15 feet in length with two 6 by 6 post on either end would that be enough to support the roof? The wall that is there now is a regular 2 by 4 stud wall 15 feet in length and 8 feet high. Thank You!
