Re: Broken double pane vinyl windowFrom: Anonymous CommentsIn the factory we use a chisel to remove the glazing beads (flashing). You may be able to remove them with a small screwdriver, but be careful because vinyl is soft and easily nicked. After removing the beads, the glass should come right out unless it is caulked. If it is caulked be sure to remove any old caulk before replacing the glass (leftover caulk can cause the new glass to break while glazing). Now for the glazing. After setting the glass in place, start with the beads that fit from corner to corner, using a small rubber hammer tap the beads into place. The trick is to place one edge of the hammer on the glass and rock-swing directly into the bead. Stay on the glass lightly so that you are unable to hit the glass because you are touching it, if that makes any sense. Start in the corners with the beads. I hope this helps. Good luck!
