styrofoam ceiling beams

Although I have read several messages about obtaining styrofoam beams, I am looking for advice on how to remove these beams. I have three beams which are approximately 14 feet long that I would like to remove, damaging the ceiling as little as possible. All hints are welcome! Thanks.
