The access panel in the block foundation of our home is metal. The metal has rusted and pitted and we thought we could replace the whole frame but it cannot be replaced without knocking out the block. The block has a groove for the metal access door to fit in. Do you have any suggestions? I want it to look good! Why do they put a metal door there when they know it is going to rust out? Please advise.
