Masonite is closing a plant. According to Masonite, decreasing demand for hardboard siding has forced them to discontinue the product line. However, we strongly encourage you to take a look at the cementitious strip siding and shingle materials from James Hardie at: http://www.jameshardie.com/buildingproducts.htm These products offer lifetime durability, never rot, and have the look of wood once painted. I've seen several new developments using this product and believe it is one of the reasons for a decreased demand in wood-based siding. Builders Websource
