Quiet! From: rbrandt@pop3.utoledo.edu CommentsI own a duplex, an old structure (built in the 1920s)that is rather noisy. By that, I mean a lot of noise travels from the lower apt. to the upper, and vice versa. The apartments share a bathroom plumbing access shaft that runs from the basement to the upper apt. I put sonex (insulation)in the shaft, which has reduced some of the noise. However, the tenants can still hear much of each other's conversations. The apts. have separate furnaces, and thus separate duct work, so I believe I can rule out a shared heating run as the culprit. Any suggestions on how to inexpensively "quiet" the place down?
