Re: ICF basementFrom: info@builderswebsource.com CommentsTo find the nearest Quadlock distributor in your area, contact Quadlock directly at (888) 711-LOCK or visit their website at http://www.quadlock.com where you can find additional information about their product. Installing ICFs (insulating concrete forms) looks easy, but requires specialized training and skills. Proper reinforcement as well as bracing is essential to prevent blowouts or walls that are wavy or out of plumb. Personlly, I really like the latest generation of ICFs and, when installed properly by an experienced crew, ICFs provide excellent structural and insulating properties. Please read our Builders Websource Tech Note on ICFs (a nominal fee applies). It's available at: http://www.builderswebsource.com/techbriefs/about_icfs.htm This tech note explains the different types of ICF systems available, arming you with essential information to make an informed decision. If you go this route, only hire a contractor that has experience with ICFs. Sometimes the local distributor can point you to subs they've worked with in the past who have a proven track record.
