Asbestos Ceiling

We tested our ceiling for asbestos and it came back positive. Removal is expensive and a total hassle. Is it feasible to cover the ceiling with 1/4-1/2 inch dry wall. I have read the the best way to treat asbestos is to leave it alone, but really want a new ceiling look. Thanks, Susie
