Re: gurgling tub/shower drainFrom: info@builderswebsource.com CommentsThere are other things that could cause this, such as partially clogged drain lines, or excessive build up in the trap. If your plumbing lines are old rusty cast iron, it's possible that they've accumulated years of scum and rust. I've seen drain pipes that are so built-up, it's amazing anything flows through them anymore. Other factors can be improperly installed venting, or wet venting (where the vent stack is also used for drainage from another source). Try snaking out the drain line as far as you can and clean out the trap. Use a high-strength drain cleaner. And remove the tub stopper to be sure there's not an accumulation of soap and hair. If this doesn't solve your problem, you may have to hire a local plumber to inspect your system on site. Builders Websource
