Re: Underslab ductFrom: info@builderswebsource.com CommentsBefore installing an underslab air duct, check first with your local building department. It is possible to do this, however, using products such as Spunstrand's commercial ducting system. See the following URL for installation diagrams and instructions: http://www.spunstrand.com/data/commercial.html However, this can be a complex matter given the drainage requirements and precautions necessary to avoid damage to the duct work during the pour. If it is not possible to use standard overhead duct work, underslab HVAC is quite expensive since waterproofing, duct compression strength and meticulous installation are key cost drivers. Is this a residential application? If so, I would recommend against underslab installation due to higher costs and lack of flexibility in balancing air flow at each "y" junction. Perhaps you could describe your situation in a little more detail so we can provide additional guidance. Builders Websource.
