Re: Cracked Tile - Way to SealFrom: info@builderswebsource.com CommentsThanks for the clarification. From your description, it sounds like the overall tile installation is in good condition and there are no visible signs of any water damage. Under the circumstances, you have a few choices: 1) If you happen to have (or can find) some matching field tiles, it's relatively easy to replace the broken ones. I'd have a professional do it so you don't break the adjoining tiles in the process. There is a very specific procedure that should be used to remove some isolated tiles without breaking a whole row of them! 2) Of course, assuming you don't have any matching tiles left by the previous owner...or can't find any, then you can either just "live" with the hairline cracks....or you can grout them or use a silicone-latex caulk as I mentioned earlier. The caulk might look a little ugly...but you can try to rub it into the cracks with your finger and wipe off the excess with a damp rag. This might be just enough to seal it. Since the cracks are generally out of the way of the shower spray anyway, there's probably a minimal chance of water damage. Good luck! Builders Websource.
